A Systematic Approach that Evolves

Individualized Training Programs:

Based on the firm belief that scoring points on standardized test is more influenced by learned skills and preparation rather than genius, PREPWORKS Test Training Programs are designed to provide students with an understanding of essential Core Knowledge and Effective Skills needed to answer test questions correctly and efficiently in a way that is easy for the student to remember and execute. All Test Training programs focus on ensuring that the student understands the Core Knowledge used in the exam, the question types, and effective strategies appropriate for each question, as well as for the exam as a whole. Our individualized programs provide the flexibility to adjust each curriculum to meet effectively the needs of the particular student’s ability and state of preparedness.

Understanding, Application, Retention:

Delivery of each class session is based on each individual student’s needs and what our highly trained instructors determine to be the most effective manner to maximize student performance. The goal of enforcing Core Knowledge and Skills to achieve the correct answer is coupled with a mental fitness program, using an interval-training regime similar to methods used by athletes to reach peak performance. Once the student achieves knowledge and understanding of the skills, we stress application to multiple problem types. Throughout the middle and final phases of the Training Program, we continually gauge retention of material to ensure the student’s maximized performance on Test Day.

Turning Test Taking into Test Points:

PREPWORKS methodology enables students to unmask the secrets and avoid the traps of standardized tests, while they learn to quickly spot correct answers and accrue more points. To ensure that our students are able to turn test taking into test points, PREPWORKS Training Curriculum is designed around recently administered official tests, not fabricated exam questions. We empower each student to approach standardized tests in a radical way — often, the philosophical opposite of conventional test taking practices.

CUTTING EDGE INSTRUCTIONAL METHODOLOGY:

All PREPWORKS class sessions evolve with and adjust to each student’s needs and include the following:

  • Student Experience Analytics (SEA):
    Through in depth analysis of the results of our diagnostic exams and the student’s previous experiences, we assess areas of strength and weakness and overall abilities. This analysis allows us to build a unique set of aggressive but realistic goals for our students. Our student goals always include a plan to improve weaknesses and maximize strengths.
  • Strategic Instructor Pairing (SIP):
    At PREPWORKS, we have found that students who have a propensity to mathematics approach both mathematical and verbal problems from the mathematical perspective, and vice versa. This phenomenon is the cornerstone of SIP. Using our findings from SEA, we pair students with instructors who approach academic problems from the same perspective. This unique strategic approach allows us to maximize the effectiveness of instruction, connect with our students, and achieve extraordinary results.
  • Insight Through Interaction (ITI):
    During PREPWORKS class sessions, we closely observe our students and gather information that allows us to tailor and adjust our strategies as needed to maximize the results of each individual student. Our curriculum and approach is fluid, not cookie-cutter.
  • Behavioral Analysis (BA):
    At PREPWORKS we realize that stress or lack of confidence often impedes students from reaching their goals, even when they understand the material. As we observe our students, we search for behavioral cues that give us insight into some of the external factors that may affect the student’s ability to perform. We then target these external factors directly, increasing the student’s comfort level and confidence so that they can succeed!
